Introduction about PLMSS

Technologies to integrate the physical world with the virtual world are constantly evolving. Product life cycle management (PLM) as a concept originated from Aerospace & Automotive industries but it has become the mainstay of all innovation driven industries. PLM encompasses product development, management, collaboration platform, project & program management, manufacturing streamlining and maintenance management and is the core of all engineering centered enterprises.

PLMSS 2017 is a platform to discuss current PLM technologies and their applications for making futuristic products. The conference intends to bring together research institutes, academicians, design practitioners, government agencies, PSUs, industry representatives and management institutes for discussing the new approaches, innovative applications, the challenges and issues of PLM. PLM can make a significant contribution to the “Make in India” campaign. Sixth in the series, this conference aims to have an international debate on future trends in PLM and revamping the engineering culture to adapt the PLM for seamless engineering collaboration. The five previous PLMSS conferences were successfully hosted by ADA - Bangalore, NAL-Bangalore, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, VIT University Vellore and at ASL- Hyderabad and BITS Pilani Hyderabad and in the respective years of Dec 2006, Nov 2008, Dec 2011, Jan 2014 and Dec 2015.
